The First Day of Summer!!!! It all happens at 10:58 am. It results in the longest day and shortest night of the calendar year. For us, the sun reaches its highest and northernmost point in the sky.

Today's sunrise was at 5:31 am and the Sunset is at 8:46 pm. That's 15:15:11 of Daylight.

A fan tossed his phone at Bebe Rexha during her show in New York City on Sunday night. (what, hoping for her to take a selfie??)

Because the phone hit Bebe right in the face, forcing her down to her knees. It also ENDED THE SHOW, and sent Bebe to the hospital for stitches above her eye.

Bebe posted some pics of her wound on Instagram yesterday, and said, "I'm good" in the caption. She's got a show tonight in Philly, and it looks like she's gonna make it.

Oh, and the guy who threw the phone was arrested and charged with FELONY assault.

How big a fan are you of Jay-Z and/or Beyoncé? I only ask because an opportunity has arisen for you to purchase a piece of bathroom equipment that they have squatted over in order to wash their privates.

A company called Eric's Architectural Salvage L.A. is selling items from a home Jay and Beyoncé rented back in 2015 . . . and it includes a BIDET. The current bid is $2,400.

Items also include sconces, exterior lights, an arched metal door frame, and French doors.

Are you a shoes off home??

In a new poll, 63% of Americans say they take their shoes off inside, while 37% DO wear shoes inside.

But 76% are not willing to ask their guests to remove their shoes . . . including 67% of the group who don't wear shoes inside themselves.

It isn't THAT imposing though. 90% of people think that it's a "reasonable request" since it's YOUR home. 10% think it's unreasonable. (and they won't be invited back)

In the poll, it seems like the shoes-off thing is more common among younger adults. 44% of Gen Z say they'll ask guests to remove their shoes . . . 35% of Millennials agree, as do 13% of Gen X and 7% of Boomers.

Diapers can be substituted for the "fine aggregates" that are normally used in concrete, to varying degrees. Mortar for structural uses, like load-bearing walls and road pavement, could only tolerate about 10% added diaper material.

But mortar and concrete for NON-structural uses, like wall partitions and low-impact floor pavers, could tolerate being up to 40% diapers.

The idea is that it's killing two birds with one stone: Finding a use for non-degradable waste and dealing with a declining supply of building materials. Most used diapers now are just incinerated.

Researchers in Japan say sanitized disposable diapers can be incorporated into concrete and mortar, which could be used to build homes.

A study in England looked at which animals seem to LIKE it when we visit the zoo, and which ones don't. It included more than 250 different species. And in general, they found most don't seem to care much either way.

But the ones that might like seeing us the most are elephants. They were more active and seemed less bored when big groups of people were around.

A few more that seem to enjoy our company include: Penguins . . . cheetahs . . . prairie dogs . . . cockatoos . . . grizzly bears . . . and polar bears. So which animals secretly HATE us? Number one on that list might be OSTRICHES. They didn't seem to like it when people were around.

More animals you might not want to invite to dinner include: Certain reptiles . . . hedgehogs . . . and marsupials, like kangaroos.

The researchers say try not to hold it against them though. One point of the study was to see if different enclosures could make animals more comfortable. So, some have better living conditions than others.

Also, we don't interact with all zoo animals in the same way, so some have to deal with a lot more stress.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Dolphins can put one side of the brain to sleep as they swim while the other side remains alert. Then they can switch, putting the other side to sleep.
