Hawaii's second-largest volcano began erupting a safe distance from both people and structures. Early bursts of lava from Kilauea shot as high as 200 feet, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. It's one of the most active volcanoes in the world, erupting without pause from 1983 to 2018.

The iconic Inside the NFL show has a new home on the CW.

The 47th season will debut on the network September 5 – just days ahead of the start of the 2023-24 season. The CW's acquisition of the show is a pretty big deal as it is the first time the show will air on a broadcast network.

The show first debuted on HBO in 1977 and ran on the network until 2008. Inside then called Showtime home before moving to Paramount+.

The CW's acquisition of the show marks the network's second successful effort as it attempts to go deeper into sports coverage. LIV Golf, which just announced a merger with the PGA Tour & European tour, is also aired on the network.

Wrestling legend The Iron Sheik, a former heavyweight champ and WWE Hall of Famer, has died at the age of 81.

The Iron Sheik was one of Hulk Hogan's first rivals ... and it was Hogan who ultimately defeated Sheik for the belt, giving rise to Hulkamania.

Sheik was also a WWF Tag Team champion, winning the strap with Nikolai Volkoff in 1985.

In 2005, Sheik was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Sgt. Slaughter, longtime rival and former partner.

Sheik is survived by his wife of 47 years, Caryl, and his children.

A new study on Great White Sharks by the Cal State Long Beach Shark Lab revealed the marine predators often come shockingly close to people in the ocean.

The study tried to figure out how safe swimmers, surfers and paddle boarders are when they go into the water. And the results are eye-opening.

"The sharks are there. They were swimming under surfers, and didn't ever change their trajectory swing right next to people and nothing happened," said Patrick Rex, a graduate student and researcher at Cal State Long Beach's shark lab, who spent two years studying Southern California white sharks from the air using drones.

The drones gave Rex a bird's-eye view of shark's behavior and encounters with humans.

The images are shocking: great white sharks swimming right next to surfers and swimmers, who often are unaware of their close encounter.

At the two hotspots, Rex found that people in the ocean at these aggregation sites are close to sharks 98% of the time. Sometimes just yards away.

"Juvenile white sharks use our beaches as a nursery. It's safe, has lots of food that's easy to catch and the water is warm but that also puts them in close proximity to people using the ocean for recreation," said Chris Lowe, the director of CSULB's Shark Lab.

"The really big take away is that when these aggregation show up the sharks will be there and you'll be there and largely they are not looking at you as prey," said Rex.

The study confirmed what researchers have long believed: as long as you leave the sharks alone, they'll leave you alone.

Located at a famous gas station and souvenir shop along Twentynine Palms Highway, the company has transformed the location into “the biggest, cheesiest roadside attraction to ever grace America’s beloved highways and byways,” according to the Kellogg Company, the owner of the Cheez-It brand.

"We created this brand-first desert outpost to capture the excitement of summer road trips and encourage fans who Want It. Need It. Cheez-It. to fuel up throughout their adventures,” Erin Storm, brand senior director for Cheez-It, said in a statement.

99% of the snail mail we get these days is JUNK mail. And it seems unavoidable. But there actually are a few things you can do to eliminate some of it.

Going with paperless billing is a good way to avoid bills you don't really need to see. But here are three more ways to cut down on actual junk mail . . .

1. Opt out of coupon mailers. You have to do them individually, but there are only three big ones "Valpak", "Save", and "Money Mailer." If you go to their websites, you can request to have your address removed.

2. Opt out of credit card and insurance offers. Go to OptOutPrescreen.com. If you give them your name and address, you can opt out for five years. You can also opt out permanently. You just have to jump through a few more hoops.

3. Opt out of random marketing and promotional stuff. DMAChoice.com lets you pick the topics you are and AREN'T interested in, and tells the big marketing agencies to take you off certain lists. They can help with junk emails too. It costs $4 but removes you from lists for 10 years.

There's a guy who uses his Twitter account to review food . . . while he's showering.

He calls himself Gazpacho Machine . . . or Gaz, for short . . . and he says he started eating while showering in an attempt to cure hangovers. It worked, so he began doing it regularly. His friends found it funny, so he started sharing his meals and later reviews on Twitter.

The foods he's eaten in the shower include: Steak . . . pineapple . . . KFC . . . and a Philly cheesesteak. Not everything is a good experience. He dropped a plate of Indian food, and some tacos slipped out of his hands.

One food he DOESN'T like eating in the shower is . . . seafood. He says, "You would think seafood and a wet environment would be a natural fit, but the smell is not too pleasant combined with the steam, shampoo, and soaps."

There is no nudity and it's basically just a picture of him holding the food in the shower with a review, and here's his Twitter link.
