Another great horse race, but no triple crown. Early Voting was the winner followed by Epicenter, Creative Minister, and Secret Oath.

Harry Styles often finds himself at the center of comparisons to Mick Jagger considering their on-stage swagger and often androgynous fashion choices, but The Rolling Stones legend told The Sunday Times that Styles only has a “superficial resemblance to my younger self.”
Not that Jagger holds anything against Styles, he says “I like Harry — we have an easy relationship,” Jagger said. “I mean, I used to wear a lot more eye make-up than him. Come on, I was much more androgynous. And he doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that.”

An enormous asteroid four times the size of the Empire State Building will make a close approach to Earth on May 27, according to NASA's Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS).
Fear not: the asteroid, named 7335 (1989 JA), will soundly miss our planet by about 2.5 million miles (4 million kilometers) — or nearly 10 times the average distance between Earth and the moon. Still, given the space rock's enormous size (1.1. miles, or 1.8 km, in diameter) and relatively close proximity to Earth, NASA has classified the asteroid as "potentially hazardous," meaning it could do enormous damage to our planet if its orbit ever changes and the rock impacts Earth.

Global health officials have sounded the alarm over rising cases in Europe and elsewhere of monkeypox, a type of viral infection more common to west and central Africa.
As of Saturday, 92 confirmed cases and 28 suspected cases of monkeypox have been reported from 12 member states that are not endemic for the virus, according to the World Health Organization.
The risk to the general public is low at this time, a U.S. public health official told reporters at a briefing on Friday.
Monkeypox is a virus that can cause symptoms including fever, aches and presents with a distinctive bumpy rash.
It is related to smallpox, but is usually milder, particularly the West African strain of the virus that was identified in a U.S. case, which has a fatality rate of around 1%. Most people fully recover in two to four weeks, the official said. It's also not easily transmitted as the COVIDs.

This was in my Daily Brew Sunday edition:
I’m going to tell you about one of the most imaginative book clubs ever.
It’s a newsletter called Dracula Daily. Matt Kirkland, the web developer who created it, has been sending snippets of Bram Stoker’s classic novel, Dracula, to subscribers’ inboxes until they finish the whole thing.
Here’s where it gets fun. For those who haven’t revisited the book since AP English, Dracula is what’s known as an epistolary novel, meaning it consists of letters, journal entries, and newspaper clippings—each with a date assigned to them. The novel takes place from May 3 to November 7, so Kirkland’s subscribers receive the selection on the dates that they occurred in the book.
In just weeks, a devoted community of Dracula readers who post jokes, memes, fan art, and other hilarious commentary on the novel as they experience it together has formed.

Twenty One Pilots were originally tapped to do a song for "Top Gun: Maverick" . . . but were fired by Tom Cruise before they could start.
Singer Tyler Joseph said in an interview, "I was working with the music placement person for the new 'Top Gun' writing a new song for them and then I believe Tom just came in and fired everyone."
Tyler was brought in and shown some scenes from the new movie. But the firing happened pretty early on because he doesn't remember writing any lyrics.
It's unclear if Tom had decided to go with Lady Gaga instead, or if this was going to be an additional song for the soundtrack.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - WWE WrestleMania was almost called the Colossal Tussle. That was the name Vince McMahon came up with back in 1985.
