TMZ reports - James Corden is saying goodbye to "The Late Late Show" in 2023 ... quite the shock since the show has been hugely popular for CBS.
James said the departure has been on his mind for a while, according to Deadline. He always thought he'd do the show for 5 years and then pass the torch to someone else, but he just kept cranking. When he pulls the plug, he'll have hosted for nearly 9 years.
JC says there are things he'd like to accomplish post-exit, like writing. He also gives thanks to his crew for being some of the most talented people he's ever met.

Here's a random question: If you bumped into your favorite celebrity on the street, would you rather take a selfie with them, or get their autograph?
Over 5,000 Americans were polled, and apparently autographs ARE still a thing. 20% of us would want an autograph . . . 42% would rather take a selfie . . . and 27% said they wouldn't ask for either of them. (The remaining 11% said "not sure.")
Men were more likely to say autograph, maybe because they were picturing an athlete. And women were more likely to say selfie.
Also, the older we get, the less likely we are to care. Only 12% of people under 30 said they wouldn't want either . . . compared to 43% of people over 65.

Here are four popular survival tips that are actually myths . . . and if you ever try them, you might be in even more danger.
1. Drinking water from a cactus to survive in the desert. While one or two species of cactuses have a little water inside, most cactuses are filled with acids that can cause diarrhea and fatal dehydration.
2. Opening all of your windows to survive a tornado. If you open your windows, it won't spread out the force of the tornado . . . it will create a wind tunnel that can rip off your roof. Spend your time getting to the basement.
3. Lightning never strikes the same place twice. It absolutely does. This myth started because of a joke: "Lightning never strikes the same place twice . . . because the same place isn't there anymore." But people ignored the second part so the myth was born.
4. Ration your water if you're stranded. The right move is to "ration sweat, not water." Try to stay cool, drink your water, and use the strength you get from that water to search for more water. Dehydration is much more dangerous.

A new survey looked at what your candy preferences might reveal about your personality . . .
They asked a bunch of questions about personality traits, and also what types of candy people liked. Here are the highlights . . .
1. People who like sour candy are more likely to be extroverted and outgoing. They're also more likely to describe themselves as funny, sarcastic, and eccentric.
2. If you prefer chocolate, you're more likely to be optimistic and shy.
3. People who opt for mint-flavored candy are the most likely to describe themselves as being a thoughtful person in general.
4. 27% of us eat candy every DAY, and 75% said at least once a week.
5. People who eat candy every day are much more likely to be night owls. Could it be all that SUGAR keeping you up?

According to a bizarre new survey, 45% of dog owners say even their DOG is in better shape than they are. 21% said the opposite, that THEY are in better shape than their dog. It's unclear what the other 34% of people think. Maybe they've never compared their fitness to their dog, which is understandable.
44% of people exercise with their dogs at least once a week on average. They didn't specify, but this is probably walking and jogging . . . not, like, pumping iron.
As for diet, almost 70% of dog owners say that paying attention to what their dog eats has led them to pay more attention to what they eat.
The survey seemed to highlight how dogs are MORE than companionship. More than half of dog owners enjoyed exercising . . . being outdoors . . . and even eating more if they were doing it alongside their dog.

A two-year-old TikTok is going viral, where a woman from a cleaning company asks: "When is the last time you cleaned out your toaster tray?" Now, you'd understand if some people saw that and thought, "I don't think I EVER have." Fine.
But apparently, it's going viral because a lot of people didn't even know toasters HAD crumb trays. Some people on TikTok are even celebrating this lady for revealing that there's a "hidden compartment" in toasters.
I guess it's possible that there are some cheap, bare bones toasters out there that you can only clean by turning them upside down or something. But YES, there is usually a tray because crumbs don't just vanish.
