Jerry Springer, one of the most influential and controversial figures in TV history, has died at 79.

Here's a piece of advice from Dr. John Gottman, a psychologist who specializes in marriage and relationships. When you and your significant other start fighting . . . you both need to pause for a second and immediately strip down naked.

Here's why it's smart. When we get into arguments, our caveman brains go into fight-or-flight mode and we acting out of instinct. That's why we start yelling, saying terrible and hurtful things, and not listening or even thinking.

But when you get naked, you pull your brain out of that tailspin. Suddenly, the situation feels too weird for you to keep going down that instinctual, hurtful path.

So you can keep arguing naked . . . but you'll both me more "in the moment" and more likely to listen to each other, act rationally, and diffuse the tension.

Campbell's is teaming up with the makers of Frank's RedHot and will start selling spicy spaghettios. So, normal SpaghettiOs with hot sauce mixed in.

Their target market isn't kids though, it's adults . . . specifically Millennials who grew up eating SpaghettiOs, but now have a more sophisticated palate.

According to their press release, Millennials buy over a third of all the SpaghettiOs sold each year. Almost half of adults 35 and under who still eat them said they have "canned pasta" at least once a week.

The spicy version hits store shelves nationwide this month.

And speaking of spice: Heinz also just announced a new line of spicy ketchups in three flavors . . . chipotle, jalapeño, and habanero. They've also got a new spicy version of their Heinz 57 steak sauce.

Someone asked 5,000 Americans do you ever wish you could spend a few days "off the grid," without people expecting you to call them back . . . reply to texts . . . or respond on social media.

Turns out most of us DO crave that feeling of being fully "unplugged" sometimes. 57% said yes, and just 20% never feel that way.

The remaining 23% either said they're not sure, or they never feel that pressure to respond . . . 11% said it's just not an issue they deal with.

There wasn't a big different across most demographics. But how OLD you are might matter.

The group most likely to say they'd love to unplug for a few days were people over 30, but under 65. So that's mainly people who are still working, and includes a lot of parents as well.

A new study found that the scent of peppermint can reduce aggressive driving behaviors. So, road rage may be relieved . . . by breathing in the sensation of a peppermint little tree air freshener.

This isn't a HUGE surprise. The compounds in peppermint oil have been known to have positive, calming effects on the brain . . . helping with depression, stress, and anxiety.

The study used peppermint essential oil, so technically it isn't just the smell of peppermint . . . you might need to invest in a higher quality air freshener that was created from the actual oil.

And they only tested peppermint versus no peppermint . . . so it's unclear if you could try other scents . . . like pine, strawberry, cotton candy, or piña colada.

In a new survey, 47% of people said they think there's too much clutter in their home. 40% blame their partner . . . 22% put it on their kids . . . and 18% of people are willing to admit that THEY are to blame.

They also asked about the most annoying types of household messes . . . and regardless of whose fault it is, the most irritating is: Those piles of random items that are sitting around everywhere.

The second most annoying is dirty plates, followed by wet towels lying around . . . used tissues that are not thrown away . . . breakfast bowls left on the table . . . and drinking glasses in the living room from the night before.

If it's not too triggering, others include: Clothes on the bathroom floor . . . socks left everywhere . . . cups left in random spots that get moldy . . . and empty snack bags left out.

The latest food trend to go viral on TikTok is: Vodka Butter. It's what it sounds like . . . butter blended with vodka for an extra kick.

Chef Carolina Gelen popularized it in a TikTok post a few months ago, and it's been picking up steam ever since.

It's easy to make: You just soften two sticks of butter . . . and put it in a food processor with three ounces of vodka. Then spread it on toasted bread . . . and top it with something salty, like anchovies, pickles, or capers . . . along with a little black pepper and lemon zest.

A 23-year-old guy in Sweden named Olle Lundin just broke the world record for knuckle-cracking . . . the "most continuous cracking of different joints."

He started with his fingers. Then he moved to his neck . . . his toes . . . his back . . . and eventually cracked 46 different joints in a row.

Guinness posted a rapid-fire video where all 46 pops are condensed down to 12 seconds.

The previous record of 40 cracks was just set back in December, and this one might not last long either. A few people online are already claiming they could beat 46.

Is it appropriate to have a "work spouse"? A "work wife" or "work husband" who you have a strong platonic bond with outside the house . . . but without the romance?

Well, it depends on your generation.

Overall, 21% of adults say they think it's okay to have a work spouse, while 45% say it isn't appropriate.

But only 18% of Millennials are okay with it, while 40% of Boomers say it's fine.

That might make sense if you think about it: If you're a young married couple . . . you're probably not cool with your partner having a close friend of the opposite sex at work.

If you've been married 30 or 40 years . . . and your partner has a work friend . . . it's maybe more of a comfort to you than something threatening.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The Moon is larger than Pluto . . . it's about 46% bigger.
