Just under half of U.S. adults with gas-powered vehicles are pretty sure they won't go electric with their next car, according to a poll by the Associated Press and the University of Chicago. Big reasons why include cost — the average vehicle sold in the U.S. is roughly $46,000; the average EV is about $58,000 — and too few charging stations. In the same poll, two in 10 said they were somewhat likely to switch to an EV and another two in 10 said they were very likely.

Reuters is reporting that four months after raising first-class stamp prices from 60 to 63 cents, the Postal Service is seeking another 3-cent increase to offset inflation. If approved, the budget-squeezed utility will have raised stamp prices 32% since 2019.

To paint or not to paint?
That is the question that many homeowners are facing as their dreams for perfect turf are battered – whether it’s from inflation pushing pricier lawn care options out of reach, or droughts leading to water shortages.
Increasingly, many are turning in the spreader for the paint can, opting, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, for shades of green with names like “Fairway” and “Perennial Rye.”
Others are going with a clover lawn, "grass" as we know it is non-native to our area.

Yesterday was Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day!
A restaurant in New York is bringing back the world's most expensive sandwich . . a grilled cheese that costs $214.
Serendipity 3 is also known for selling the world's most expensive milkshake for $100 . . . the world's most expensive fries for $200 . . . and the world's most expensive dessert for $25,000.
Their $214 grilled cheese debuted in 2014. You have to order it 48 hours in advance. Here's why it costs so much . . .
The bread itself has Dom Perignon champagne baked into it. It's cooked in truffle butter with edible gold flakes mixed in. And the fancy Italian cheese comes from cows that can only be milked two months out of the year.
Once it's cooked, they stick more edible gold flakes on the outside of the bread for no good reason. And it's also served with a lobster bisque dipping sauce.

TikTok's latest trend is "Mewing."
It's the process of placing the tongue at the roof of the mouth and applying pressure to cause bony changes in the jawline.
A plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, "
"Basically, it's a way of repositioning anatomy in your neck and lower face," Shafer says. "When you look in the mirror, you can practice and push your tongue up in the roof of your mouth and pull underneath your chin up to make it look slimmer. You can see a difference. When we're taking a picture, people consciously or subconsciously do it."
There's a video of an impossibly gorgeous person doing this by the way.
The term "mewing" was coined by British dentist John Mew and his son, Mike Mew. They preached the idea of altering face shapes and jawlines through facial exercises, though most dentists agree in denouncing their claims – one dentist told The New York Times that Mew was "a total idiot."

Never buy your kid a bathing suit that's blue.
A swimming teacher in Florida posted a video on TikTok that's racked up millions of views in the past week. She says blue bathing suits are dangerous, because they're impossible to see.
She bought one for her daughter just to show people what she means. She chose the worst possible color, light blue. (Here's a photo.)
It's dangerous because it's the exact same color as the bottom of every swimming pool. So it's hard to keep track of them in the water and make sure they're okay.
A few lifeguards chimed in and agreed with her. Light blue bathing suits are bad, especially for little kids. And light pastels in general aren't great.
Instead, they say stick with bright colors, like orange or red. They're much easier to see.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is going beyond his civic duty and grabbing a shovel.
The actor and former governor of California lent a hand to his Los Angeles community by filling a "giant" pothole in the middle of the street with a bit of help and recorded the whole process.
"Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it," Schwarzenegger tweeted with a one-minute video of the process Tuesday. "I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go."

We don't know much about the "Barbie" movie yet, but it sounds like it's going to be pretty out there.
In fact, Margot Robbie says. Quote, "The first time I read the 'Barbie' script, my reaction was, 'Ah! This is so good. What a shame it will never see the light of day because they are never going to let us make this movie.' But they did."
But when she was asked for details, Margot said, quote, "Can't tell ya!"
On a similar note, Simu Liu took the gig after his agent read the script and told him, quote, "If I could stake my career on any one script, it's the 'Barbie' script. I really think you should do it.'"
"Barbie" hits theaters on July 21st.
