"Jack Daniels … doesn't want [customers] confused or associating its fine whiskey with dog poop," are words in a real Supreme Court filing, in a case that justices considered Wednesday.
The spirit maker said the company that makes "Bad Spaniels" chew toy, which mimics the bottle shape and design, is violating U.S. trademark law by making customers think Jack Daniels approved it.
They should think of it as free advertising. I see the knockoff bottle and think of Jack Daniel's and giggle.

Researchers are using locks of Ludwig van Beethoven's hair that friends kept as keepsakes to sequence the great composer's genome and unlock secrets about his health and ancestry.
The researchers said in a paper published Wednesday in the journal Current Biology that studying Beethoven's DNA could help explain his progressive hearing loss and the severe liver disease that contributed to his 1827 death at age 56, The Wall Street Journal reported. Scholars previously could only hunt for clues about Beethoven's health problems, like chronic stomach pains, by combing through his journals and letters. The researchers didn't find a genetic culprit for Beethoven's deafness, but they discovered a genetic risk for liver disease.
Also when I hear a story like this....looks like cloning him is next. Maybe we can get a finished 10th symphony!

The Writers Guild of America has proposed allowing artificial intelligence to write scripts, as long as it does not affect writers’ credits or residuals.
The guild had previously indicated that it would propose regulating the use of AI in the writing process, which has recently surfaced as a concern for writers who fear losing out on jobs.
But contrary to some expectations, the guild is not proposing an outright ban on the use of AI technology.
Instead, the proposal would allow a writer to use ChatGPT to help write a script without having to share writing credit or divide residuals. Or, a studio executive could hand the writer an AI-generated script to rewrite or polish and the writer would still be considered the first writer on the project.
The proposal does not address the scenario in which an AI program writes a script entirely on its own, without help from a person. I guess the credit would go to Alan I. Smithee. like any director who doesn't want credit for a movie. (it's been done

Going on a spring vacation? You might want to avoid the cities identified as the worst to live in if you have allergies.
A new Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America report identified the 2023 "Allergy Capitals" based on pollen scores, over-the-counter medication use and the number of allergy specialists. The 20 worst cities for people with allergies are:
Wichita, Kansas
Dallas
Scranton, Pennsylvania
Oklahoma City
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Sarasota, Florida
Cape Coral, Florida
Orlando, Florida
Des Moines, Iowa
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Houston
Little Rock, Arkansas
Miami
Lakeland, Florida
Raleigh, North Carolina
Palm Bay, Florida
Tampa, Florida
Greensboro, North Carolina
Rochester, New York
Some cities are much easier to live in for those dealing with allergies, AAFA found. Buffalo, New York, is the least challenging city. Other cities with better-than-average rankings include Seattle; Cleveland; Austin, Texas; Akron, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; Detroit; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Columbus, Ohio and Salt Lake City.

Muscle car fans are in mourning today, because General Motors just killed off the Chevy Camaro.
They announced they're discontinuing it after the 2024 model because sales have dropped. The last one will roll off the production line next January.
The original Camaro came out in 1966, so it's been around almost 60 years. And this isn't the first time they've stopped making it. They hit the pause button for a while in 2003, before relaunching the brand in 2010.
The good news is it sounds like that could be in the cards this time too, and it might just be another temporary pause.
Chevy broke the news in a press release and said they're not announcing a successor . . . but, quote, "this is not the end of Camaro's story."
Now people are speculating they might relaunch it as an electric car.

A Disney super-fan named Nathan Firesheets just went to all 12 Disney theme parks in the world . . . and did it in 12 DAYS.
He hit one park per day, but didn't just pop in and leave. He also went on every single operating RIDE . . . all 216 of them.
Here's a quick rundown of his trip. A few of the parks are in the same general area, which made things easier . . .
He started at Disneyland Paris on March 8th . . . then went to Walt Disney Studios Park on the 9th, also in Paris.
After that, he immediately flew to China and went to Shanghai Disneyland on the 10th . . . then Hong Kong Disneyland on the 11th.
He headed to Japan next and went to Tokyo Disneyland on the 12th . . . and Tokyo DisneySea on the 13th.
After that, he flew from Tokyo to California and went to Disneyland on the 14th . . . and Disney California Adventure on the 15th.
Then he headed to Walt Disney World in Florida, and finished up with Epcot on the 16th . . . Disney's Animal Kingdom on the 17th . . . Hollywood Studios on the 18th . . . the Disney's Magic Kingdom on the 19th this past Sunday.
He documented the whole thing for his YouTube page, which has about 1,000 followers. He called it the "Disney Global Ride Challenge" but hasn't posted the footage yet. He also hasn't revealed how much the trip cost.

There's a video of an Amazon delivery driver showing up at a residence where there's a police standoff. He casually walks past dozens of police cars . . . and groups of cops . . . before he's eventually stopped by a SWAT member.
The guy gestures to the house as if to say, I've gotta deliver this.
He isn't allowed through, so he just hands the package to the SWAT member. And then he takes a photo, to prove that the package made it. The video was filmed by a neighbor who got a kick out of the whole thing.
According to reports, this happened last month in Cary, North Carolina. The standoff was with an armed suspect in the house, and it lasted nearly 24 hours.
It's unclear WHAT was in the package . . . or IF it was ordered by the armed suspect inside. Since this chaos lasted 24 hours, it could've been ordered during the standoff, but that's unlikely.
Dude..if there's an active standoff, you are forgiven for not getting me my toilet seat spacers. I can wait another day!
