New at the box office

Argylle - Matthew Vaugn, the mind behind the Kingsmen movies, directs this razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller.

Starring - Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dua Lipa.

(new content)

"Argylle is based on a book supposedly written by a novelist named Elly Conway, but there's a conspiracy theory making the rounds, that Elly Conway is actually a pseudonym for Taylor Swift,.

Yes..there is a debunked theory that Swift served as the basis for the film's story,

(facepalm)

The news from Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania yesterday - Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow. Hooray Early Spring !!

This marks the first time since 2020 that Phil predicted an early spring and the 21st time since records were kept. (he has a 39% correct record.)

Candlemas was traditionally aligned with the anticipation of planting crops, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac, and seeing sunshine on the day was said to indicate winter's return.

In Europe, people traditionally looked to bears or badgers to look for the sign of returning winter or coming spring, but when German immigrants arrived in Pennsylvania, they instead used groundhogs to make the forecast.

"It’s not what I feel, it's what I see and what you hear, so gather round and let me be clear. Atmosphere is a wonderful thing. And we can create our own and the weather it brings, "It brings hope for the future and so much more, and maybe a write-in vote in 2024.

But what this weather did not provide is a shadow or reason to hide. Glad tidings on this Groundhog Day, an early spring is on the way.” (translated from Grondhogesse.)

Lays Potato Chips had a fun ad running in honor of Groundhog Day.

Ned Ryerson, played by Stephen Tobolowsky from the movie is in a supermarket reliving the same day, but with different potato chips each of the eight times.

Same script..except for him. It's hilarious.

Here's the video

See if you can follow along. Britney Spears writes a book with information about her and Justin Timberlake.

Justin Timberlake released his new single Selfish.

Spearites (is that correct fandom?) have sent her 2011 song Selfish to the top of the iTunes chart.

Justin appears on SNL (and kills it in my opinion).

Britney Instas out “I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry, I am so in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish.’ It is soo good.”

Wednesday night, Justin is performing in NYC and about to launch into "Cry Me a River". . . a song that's supposedly about his breakup with Britney.  And he said, quote, "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely [effing] nobody."

Well, Brit Brit caught wind and said quote, "Someone told me someone was talking [crap] about me on the streets!!!  Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time???  I'm not sorry!!!"

The other feud brewing is between Elmo and Larry David. Both were on the Today show where Larry grabbed Elmo by the face. But (sort of) apologized.

I don't know..this seems pretty pretty pretty bad.

Some people think this improves on the original design.  Others are calling it an "UNHOLY" idea . . .Philadelphia Cream Cheese unveiled HOLE-LESS bagels this week.  A regular bagel, just no hole in the middle.  Shops in five different cities are selling them for a limited time.

The entire thing is just a marketing stunt.  They say it's better, because there's additional room to spread more cream cheese.

Each bagel shop has a slightly different version of it, so they're not launching a new product.  It's just a gimmick.

The five shops selling them are in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Montreal.  Utopia Bagels in New York is also selling 10-packs of theirs online for $70 at GoldBelly.com.

The Grammys are Sunday.  SZA leads this year's list with nine total nominations. Following are Phoebe Bridgers, Victoria Monét, and audio engineer Serban Ghenea with seven each, while Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, and Olivia Rodrigo have six nominations each.

Cops in England stopped a guy when they saw him running with a fridge strapped to his back. But it turned out he wasn't stealing it.

His name is Daniel Fairbrother, and he's training for a marathon to raise money and support a buddy with diabetes. He's trying to break the record for fastest marathon while carrying a household appliance.
