Raquel Welch, a veteran actress who rose to fame in the 1960s in the films “One Million Years B.C.” and “Fantastic Voyage,” has died at 82.
The Chicago-born actress went on to star as Constance de Bonacieux in the 1973 movie “The Three Musketeers.” Welch won a best actress Golden Globe award for her performance, and reprised her role as de Bonacieux in the 1974 sequel “The Four Musketeers: Milady’s Revenge.”
As the momentum pushed forth for Welch, the “sex symbol” moniker also continued to stick around.
“Part of being a sex symbol is very flattering and it does help you get success in the business - but only to a point,” Welch said in an interview with Cinema.com around the release of her 2001 film “Tortilla Soup,” adding that “it does cloud people’s imagination.”
“They just can’t see you being able to do anything else.”

Quaoar, a tiny planet one-third the size of our moon, has shocked astronomers.

A guy in Georgia is facing charges after trying to smuggle in two big bags of CHICKEN WINGS.
His name is Michael Dixon, and he's 45. Guards at DeKalb County Jail near Atlanta saw him sneaking around outside the lobby last Friday.
He had a box cutter with him. It's not clear if he was trying to smuggle that in or not, but he did bring plenty of other stuff.
They found a bag hidden in a bush outside with TONS of stuff in it, including what looks like three or four dozen hot wings that were fully cooked.
The bag also contained weed . . . cocaine . . . cigarettes . . . cigars . . . loose tobacco . . . lighters . . . cell phones and chargers . . . a set of AirPods . . . jewelry . . . two sets of Allen wrenches . . . and some glue.
Guards found a broken window in someone's cell. So that's how the inmates were planning to get everything in. He's facing charges for drug possession, criminal trespass, and entering a jail with a weapon.
