30 Years Ago This Month - 1994 The Lion King: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was released.
It contains songs from the film written by Elton John and Tim Rice, and a score composed by Hans Zimmer.
Two smash singles were released.
"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" peaked at #4, #1 AC, #3 Mainstream Top 40. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
