"March of the Pigs" was the first single making #59.

"Closer" was the second and became a hit! It peaked at #41, #11 Alternative Airplay, #29 Club, #35 Mainstream Rock.

Lyrically, it is a song about self-hatred and obsession; to Reznor's dismay, the song was widely misinterpreted as a lust anthem due to its chorus.
