1993 - The Hits/The B-Sides - Prince

39 Years Ago - 1993 Prince released The Hits/The B-Sides

It was a three-disc set consisting of many of his hit singles and fan favorites. Discs one and two were released separately, under the titles The Hits 1 and The Hits 2 respectively, but The B-Sides disc could only be obtained by purchasing the full set. Prince had little interest in the project.

This compilation has one of the worst edits you'll ever hear of "Let's Go Crazy."

A few bright spots with the unreleased material which were used as singles, but search out the regular version on his albums.

This was the first time the single version of "Kiss" was made available on CD.

"Pink Cashmere" peaked at #50, #10 R&B, #10 Rhythmic Top 40, #30 Mainstream Top 40.

"Peach" (the b-side was the live version of "Nothing Compares 2 U" with Rosie Gaines on the vocal) it peaked at #7 bubbling under the Hot 100. "Nothing.." charted on the R&B Singles chart at #62.

"Controversy" originally hit #70 in 1982 (#3 R&B and #1 Club) but didn't chart from the Hits albums in America, but was #5 in the UK
