30 Years Ago 1992 Barenaked Ladies released their debut album Gordon.
BNL were mostly ignored in America. (except by me..huge fan!)
It wasn't till 1997 when the live album Rock Spectacle came out that they got attention.
The album spawned six singles in Canada (with some cross over in Upstate NY due to relentless touring and access to Canadian Radio Stations) "Be My Yoko Ono" (#77), "Enid" (#2), "Grade 9" (#53), "If I Had $1,000,000" (#13), "Brian Wilson" (#18), and "What a Good Boy" (#34.)
After some difficulty recording "The King of Bedside Manor", it was suggested that the band members record the song naked. Wojewoda and engineer Jean Diamont were also required to remove their clothes; said Wojewoda, "I think the recording has this totally over-the-top nervous energy as a result of being naked."
Personal favorite from the album is "Box Set."
