1989 - Sleeping with the Past - Elton John

35 Years Ago - 1989 Elton John released his twenty-second studio album Sleeping with the Past.

Inspired by the success of Billy Joel's 1983 album An Innocent Man, Elton and Bernie Taupin decided to pay a similar tribute to the R&B sound of the 1960s and '70s that inspired them as youths.

"Healing Hands"  peaked at #13, #1 AC and #23 Mainstream Rock.

"Sacrifice" made #18 and #3 AC. This song, along with other Elton John songs "Rocket Man", "Kiss the Bride" and "Where's the Shoorah?", was sampled in the 2021 collaboration between John and Dua Lipa titled "Cold Heart" Produced by the band Panu.

"Club at the End of the Street" peaked at #28(a shame), and #2 AC. Great video.
