1987 - Summer Song Runner-Up

1987 Heart was Alone at #1 for the Summer Song, but it was Whitney Houston that said "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" that was the runner-up. Written by Boy Meets Girl bandmates George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam. It won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammys, marking Houston's second win in the category.

This was Whitney's fourth #1 and stayed there for two weeks.
