35 Years Ago - 1987 George Michael released his first solo album Faith.
The album was a smash including 12 weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200. It was also the first album by a white solo artist to hit number one on the Billboard Top Black Albums chart.
The four number one singles made Michael the only British male solo artist to have four number one hits from one album on the Billboard Hot 100. It won a Grammy for Album of the Year.
The first single "I Want Your Sex" also appeared on the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack and made #2 on the Hot 100 (#2 Club #43 R&B.)
"Hard Day" made#5 Club and #21 R&B.
The album became unstoppable with "Father Figure" (#1 #3 AC #13 Club #6 R&B), "One More Try" (#1 Hot 100, AC, and R&B), "Monkey" (#1 Hot 100 and Club #8 R&B), and "Kissing a Fool" (which was the working title of the album) made #5 #1 AC and #33 R&B.
