1986 Billy Idol released his third album Whiplash Smile. Three singles, "To Be a Lover" (#6), "Don't Need a Gun" (#37 #10 Mainstream Rock), and "Sweet Sixteen" (#20 #26 Mainstream Rock) were released in the US.
