40 Years Ago - 1983 Linda Ronstadt released her first album of traditional pop standards What's New.

A major departer for the leading female vocalist in rock, she worked with legendary bandleader/arranger Nelson Riddle.

"What's New" peaked at #53 Hot 100 and #5 AC.

"I've Got a Crush on You" was a #7 AC hit.

"Someone to Watch Over Me" did not chart but was a single.
