1983 - Pyromania - Def Leppard

40 Years Ago - 1983 Def Leppard released their third album Pyromania.

Produced by Robert "Mutt" Lange the album was a shift away from the traditional heavy metal roots of the band to a more radio-friendly sound. And it was massive.

Singles released were "Photograph" which made #12 Hot 100 (#1 Mainstream Rock), "Rock of Ages" #16 (#1 Mainstream Rock), and "Foolin'" #28 (#9 Mainstream Rock.)

"Too Late for Love" was the last top ten on the Mainstream Chart making #9.

"Rock of Ages" was played so much on MTV that it seemed that every time I would turn MTV on it was playing...which led to my housemates at college to call it "my" song. Hey, Brian, your song is on MTV again.
