40 Years Ago - 1983 Genesis released their self-titled twelfth album.

At the time, it became their biggest commercial success, and garnered two Grammy nominations.

US Singles started with "Mama" which peaked at #73 but was a Mainstream Rock hit at #5.

"That's All" peaked at #6 and #7 AC. It was their first appearance in the Top Ten.

"Illegal Alien" made #44 and received largely a negative reception.

"Taking It All Too Hard" made #50.
