40 Years Ago1982 Donna Summer released her tenth album Donna Summer. The album gave us the #10 song "Love is In Control (Finger on the Trigger)" (#4 R&B #3 Club.) Summer reported that the recording process for this album was challenging, as she was pregnant at the time.
"State of Independence" was co-written by Vangelis and made #41 (#31 R&B) and has an all-star choir that included Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Brenda Russell, Christopher Cross, Dyan Cannon, James Ingram, Kenny Loggins, Peggy Lipton, Patti Austin, Michael McDonald, and Stevie Wonder.
