45 Years Ago - 1979 Sister Sledge released their third album We Are Family.

This is basically a Chic album with different singers (the actual sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge) as it's written and produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.

It was a #1 R&B and #3 charting album.

"He's the Greatest Dancer" peaked at #9, #1 Club and R&B.

"We Are Family" made #2 ("Hot Stuff by Donna Summer kept it out of #1), #1 Club and R&B, #30 AC.

"Lost in Music" was a #35 R&B hit.

"Thinking of You" was a #64 hit, #6 R&B, #34 Club.
