1978 - Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce Springsteen

45 Years Ago - 1978 Bruce Springsteen released his fourth album Darkness on the Edge of Town.

The album made #5 on the charts but the singles were modest hits.

The first single "Prove It All Night" only reached #33. It did perform better at Prog Rock and AOR Radio.

"Badlands" was next and the riff is based on the Animals' "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". Bruce has stated, "Listen up, youngsters! This is how successful theft is accomplished!" The song peaked at #42. There's also a renewed interest in this song as it's used at the end of the latest Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack.
