1977 Cat Stevens released his tenth album Izitso. "Remember the Days of the Old Schoolyard" w/Elkie Brooks was the single from the album making #33 and #28 AC.
The song "Was Dog a Doughnut?" upon release was criticized for sounding "a bit too robotlike" but has since been considered one of the first electro, or techno-pop, songs ever recorded, with elements later associated with hip hop music. The track made early use of a music sequencer along with synthesizers. Love this song and it made #70 on the Hot 100.
