50 Years Ago - 1974 Hollies released their fourteenth album (in the UK) again self-titled.

"The Air That I Breathe" was a #6 Hot 100 and #3 AC smash.

Audio engineering was done by Alan Parsons, who said that Eric Clapton said the first note had more soul than anything he had ever heard.

The English rock band Radiohead reused the chord progression and melody for their 1992 song "Creep".
