There are so many releases this month that I'm taking 1973 and doing an extra post on Sundays to cover the album that came out.
Today - Titans of Classic Rock. Linda Ronstadt, Elton John, and Fleetwood Mac.
Linda Ronstadt released her third album, her first with Asylum Records, Don't Cry Now.
The album also features her rendition of the Eagles' "Desperado."
Elton John released his seventh album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
17 major tracks from the duo of Bernie Taupin and Elton. It is widely regarded as one of John's best albums and is one of his most popular. It is his best-selling studio album.
"Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" #12
"Candle in the Wind" is the Marilyn Monroe tribute not released as a single in America so no chart info. (1997 is a different story)
In the midst of all this, he released "Step Into Christmas."
Fleetwood Mac released their eighth album Mystery to Me.
Most of the songs were penned by guitarist/singer Bob Welch and keyboardist/singer Christine McVie, who were instrumental in steering the band toward the radio-friendly pop-rock that would make them successful a few years later.
"For Your Love", a cover of the Yardbirds' 1965 #6 hit, was the only single with no chart action.
