45 Years Ago - 1981 George Harrison released his ninth album Somewhere in England. "All Those Years Ago" serves as a tribute to John Lennon who was murdered in 1980. Ringo Starr played drums, and Paul McCartney (along with his Wings bandmates Linda McCartney and Denny Laine) overdubbed backing vocals onto the basic track. The son got stuck at #2 behind "Bette Davis Eyes" and #1 AC. "Teardrops" made #51 Mainstream Rock.
45 Years Ago - 1981 Jimmy Buffett released his tenth album Coconut Telegraph. "It's My Job" made #57, #32 AC, and #51 Mainstream Rock. "Stars Fell on Alabama" didn't chart but I'm a big fan.
