Paul Cook of the Cottage Bakery in Blackpool had decided to label his Gingerbread cookies "non-binary gingerbread people'." They look just like what you would expect..round head, two arms, two legs...nothing else. It's just the label. He says it's a 50/50 split of people enjoying it or hating it.
Following the backlash, Cook revealed that he's actually been selling the non-binary gingerbread people for a few years without issue - it was only when the post was shared online that people spoke out about it.
Really people...isn't there something really important that you could worry about? I say, good for him!!!

Twitter will no longer allow users to promote their accounts on at least seven other major social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram and Truth Social, the platform announced Sunday.
The new policy comes after many users began posting links to their accounts on other sites following Elon Musk’s takeover as CEO of Twitter and the platform’s subsequent reinstatement of far-right accounts, suspension of journalists and mass layoffs under his reign.
“We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter,” Twitter Support tweeted Sunday.
Then, Elon Musk, posted an informal poll of the social media platform’s users Sunday asking if he should step down as head of the company.
At 6:20 a.m. ET on Monday, the poll ended with a majority of respondents (57.5%) calling for the billionaire to leave his post. More than 17 million users had voted by the time the poll closed.

A new survey by an insurance company found that 97% of people who decorate inside their homes for the holidays do so with at least one fire hazard. So basically everyone. And 76% of people who decorate use multiple fire hazards.
47% of people say they use candles . . . 31% admit to using two or more extension cords plugged together . . . and 28% use tinsel, which can be VERY flammable.
Also, 66% of people who use indoor holiday lights, like on a Christmas tree, say they keep the lights on even when no one is home.
And speaking of Christmas trees, less than 17% of people who put up a real tree water it every day.

People have been caught cheating in an HOV lane with a FAKE "person" in the passenger seat. But this one is HOLIDAY-themed.
A driver in Arizona was caught driving in a carpool lane with an INFLATABLE GRINCH sitting in the front seat. The Arizona Department of Public Safety posted a photo online, and it's pretty funny.
The driver probably isn't laughing though. A trooper pulled the car over, confirmed that there were no other passengers in the car, and issued a citation.
It's unclear how much the ticket was for. But according to a report from 2018, local fines for HOV violations "start at $400."

Don't ruin your holidays by accidentally hurting yourself. Here are a few common holiday injuries, and how to avoid them . . .
1. Falling off a ladder while you're hanging decorations. There are 160 of those types of injuries every DAY this time of year. The rule of thumb is for every four feet you have to climb, you should move the base of the ladder one foot away from the wall. And make sure someone's down there holding it too.
2. Toy-related injuries. There are around 150,000 of them each year in kids 14 and under. So make sure they're old enough for the new toys you're buying. The most dangerous, statistically, are Razor scooters.
3. Fires. Be careful cooking, and with trees and candles. Trees cause around 100 major fires in November and December each year. And candles cause 1,000.
4. Lifting injuries. We get a lot more packages this time of year. So don't rush or twist while picking stuff up. And lift with your legs, not your back.
5. Cutting yourself. The big culprit is opening packages with scissors or a knife. Always cut away from yourself, but never toward anyone else. And make sure to help kids with packaging that might be tough to open.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Mistletoe is from the Old English word "misteltan," which means "little dung twig" . . . apparently because the plant spreads through bird droppings.
Think of that when you're kissing under it.
