Doctors warn against spending too much time on the toilet
Medical experts are particularly worried about the risk of developing hemorrhoids for those who spend too long on the toilet.
So don't scroll your social media for hours while you sit...and that's the issue.
Your break should be between 5 and 10 minutes at the most.
For more in-depth on the issues check out this article from Mental Floss.
And speaking of the bathroom!
Do you pee in the shower? A poll a while back found most Americans have done it. And now you can let it flow with no remorse.
CNN talked to urologists who said there's really no reason not to. Quote, "There’s no downside, and it's just convenient."
We've seen articles that say peeing in the shower isn't a great idea for women. The claim is it doesn't let your pelvic floor muscles relax. So you end up straining, which can weaken those muscles over time.
But a urologist in New York said that's not really true, or doesn't have to be. Just relax and let it happen naturally. As long as you don't strain, you're fine.
Peeing in the shower also won't damage your pipes. And since showers wash it away so fast, it won't hurt your skin. There's a low risk of an infection if you have a cut on your leg or something. But that's it.
So if you're a woman, feel free to let loose in there. And if you're a man . . . you were probably doing it already. So keep doin' what you're doin'.

Buying a new car? Create an email address for it and send everything regarding the car to it, like: maintenance records, gas receipts, registration, or pictures of it before you let a friend borrow it. This will make things much easier when you go to sell it or have an insurance claim. The same technique can be done with a house or other big purchases.

Dictionary.com just announced that their Word of 2024 is "demure," which became a popular meme on TikTok. If you spend a lot of time online . . . riding slang and trends . . . it may have been your choice too.
They picked it over other viral sensations, like "brat," as in "brat summer" . . . "brainrot," which is "an inability to think clearly caused by excessive consumption of low-quality online content" . . . and "weird."
Dictionary.com said demure had a "meteoric rise in usage" this year . . . especially this summer. It was up 1,200% between January and August.
Their word of the year LAST YEAR was "hallucinate." That's a reference to the rise of chatbots and A.I. that can often derail and spur misinformation.
An Australian dictionary's word of the year is "enshittification" - "The gradual deterioration of a service or product, brought about by a reduction in the quality of service provided, especially of an online platform, and as a consequence of profit-seeking."
