A new term has been popping up online: "Winter Coating" . . . and it doesn't have anything to do with snow, or those extra pounds you're going to be putting on to keep yourself warm.
"Winter coating" is when an ex comes back into your life for the holidays . . . maybe to hit up some parties together, or just to hibernate and Netflix-and-chill . . . only to be gone again once spring arrives.
As for the name "winter coating," the idea is that it's like you're breaking out a winter coat again . . . only to put it away once it warms up.

Figgy Pudding..we hear about it..but what is it? It's a classic holiday CAKE made with flour, dried fruit, and "suet" or hardened fat.
Most Americans just know if from the song "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". But now's your chance to see what it's all about . . . because the makers of SPAM are selling their own version for the holidays.
Two-packs of SPAM Figgy Pudding are available for a limited time on Amazon for $10, or Walmart.com for a little more.
It's not REAL figgy pudding though. It's a much more meat-forward version. The top ingredient is still pork, so it's figgy pudding-FLAVORED, but not the actual dessert.
The last holiday flavor SPAM came up with was surprisingly popular. Back in 2019, their pumpkin spice version sold out instantly.

It makes sense to have lower speed limits in places with lots of pedestrians. But how slow is TOO slow? A new study found the answer might be 20 miles an hour.
Back in 2016, Belfast in Northern Ireland dropped their speed limit in the city center to 20 miles an hour. But the study found it hasn't made a big difference.
There's been a slight drop in the number of crashes and fatalities, but not enough to be statistically relevant.
The biggest difference they've seen is fewer cars. So dropping the speed limit might just make people avoid roads where they have to slow down.
Here's one reason it might not make a huge difference. Even when you tell people they can only drive 20, no one does it.
After one year, people were only driving 0.2 miles per hour slower, on average. And in three years, it only dropped by 0.8 miles an hour.
To be clear, that doesn't mean you should ignore speed limit signs. And low speed limits DO often make sense, like when schools are nearby.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Based on the way our bodies are built, we SHOULD faint every time we stand up . . . and scientists are just now figuring out why we don't. They believe it has to do with some special neurons that keep it from happening.
