Top New York political leaders are urging the federal government to deploy high-tech drone hunters to crack the mystery of who is behind the numerous sightings of what are believed to be unmanned flying objects that have been buzzing over communities in New York and New Jersey, and even prompting authorities to shut down an airport over the weekend.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer said Sunday that he's asking the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to immediately deploy special drone-detecting technology, which has been unclassified, to get to the bottom of what has been alarming and baffling residents in the region.

A mathematician in South Korea may have finally solved the "moving sofa problem." It's about finding the largest possible sofa shape that could be moved around the corner of a hallway. Math nerds have been working on it since the 1960s.
I thought just yelling Pivot was enough!!!!

A poll found the average employee feels like they need a "proper vacation" every 110 days to keep their sanity intact. (Three vacations a year!?)
It doesn't say how long the break has to be. Just a nice stretch where you'd burn a few vacation days.
It was part of a poll where just 18% said they always use up their paid time off. The average person will leave five extra vacation days on the table this year, even if they won't roll over to 2025.
Even when we do use our vacation days, we're not necessarily relaxing. On average, less than 40% of that time is used for rest and relaxation.
The top things we use those days for are: Vacations . . . personal time at home . . . doctor's appointments . . . staycations . . . family emergencies . . . running errands . . . and childcare.

In a new poll, 14% of people say they've successfully "crashed" a party or event without the host's permission. Another 4% TRIED to do it, but got stopped.
9% of people say they have successfully crashed a HOLIDAY party or event without the host's permission. Another 4% tried to, but were caught . . . maybe by Aunt Kathy, who was SERIOUS about needing a head-count ahead of time.
So is this a serious faux pas or something that's not THAT big of a deal?
It probably depends on the party or event that you're "crashing" but 77% of people think it's generally unacceptable to show up without the host's permission.
Another 10% say it's usually fine and 14% are "not sure."

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Until kale became trendy in the last decade, the biggest buyer of kale in the U.S. was . . . Pizza Hut. Not to feed to people, but to use as decoration on their salad bars.
