Someone asked social media, "What's a common American tradition or holiday that you think might not exist in 25 years?" Here are a few of the best responses:
1. Class reunions . . . mostly due to social media.
2. Bobbing for apples at Halloween. (didn't that go with COVID?)
3. Trick-or-treating in YOUR neighborhood. People say there are designated "areas" now that parents go . . . and small communities are abandoned.
4. Gender-reveal parties . . . partially due to people being overwhelmed with baby-related events. And partially due to the forest fires . . . and deaths.(can we just go back to cakes?)
5. Christmas cards. They may already be dying out . . . possibly because of social media. One person online joked, "My wife will single handedly keep this tradition alive."
6. Black Friday. Most of it has moved online, and it's become less of a "thing."
7. Beauty pageants.
8. Block parties. People are asking if anyone still does them.
9. Car culture. People think it peaked with the Silents and Boomers.

71% of Americans think they are, but do the stats back it up? A study looked at how long the average person can wait for various things before they start getting annoyed.
1. Waiting on a server to take your order? 13 minutes.
2. Waiting for your food to arrive? 17 minutes. So, add those up and we expect to be eating within 30 minutes of sitting down.
3. Waiting in line at the grocery store? Over half of us will switch to a different line if we see more than three people ahead of us.
4. Food delivery? 29 minutes.
5. Waiting behind someone at a stop sign? A third of us are laying on the horn within 10 seconds. (really....more like 10-100ths of a second)

There are a few subtle differences between working from home, and going into the office. The big one is: To go to the office, you will need to get dressed. But also: You can kick off your shoes.
One person said, "I change my socks daily and they get washed between wears. My shoe soles, not so much, and I walk around outside in them."
Another person said, "I don't give a [crap] what people do or don't wear on their feet. The issue is whether or not the feet smell rancid."
Some people added some nuance. Like: It's okay if you're at your desk, and there's no stench . . . but not walking around. Or: It's okay for women who have to wear high-heels, but not men. Or: It depends on your profession.
And this take: Socks could be fine as long as it's THAT chill of an office . . . but BARE FEET is a hard no.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The Lego company has been around for 90 years now. The name is a simplified version of two Danish words "leg godt," which means "play well."
