A new report looked at how many calories people are downing at the Thanksgiving table . . . and there's good news and bad news.
The average American's caloric intake during the Thanksgiving meal is "just" 2,092 calories, which doesn't seem THAT bad. (this excludes booze)
According to dietary guidelines in the U.S., adults should consume anywhere between 1,600 and 3,000 calories per day, depending on a bunch of stuff . . . like age, weight, and gender.
This year, 14% of people are planning to eat over 3,000 calories . . . and 4% are planning to eat over 5,000 calories.
And Thursday isn't the end of it. The average person will also be eating about 2,270 calories worth of leftovers. Nearly 40% of people said they'd eat a lot more than that . . . 27% said 3,000 calories in leftovers, while 9% said 5,000.
On average, Americans plan to eat Thanksgiving leftovers for three days after Thanksgiving . . . and 8% plan to eat them for a week or more.

Was your weekend so packed, it feels like you didn't even have one? According to a "happiness expert," you may need to get into the mindset of treating your weekends like a vacation.
She ran a study where hundreds of people were told to treat their two days off like a mini vacation instead of a "weekend." And just thinking about it like that made a difference.
People slept in a little longer . . . had more fun . . . didn't worry about knocking EVERYTHING off their to-do list . . . and just felt more in-the-moment.
It might mean you'll have to spend more time knocking those chores out on weekdays. But she says it's worth having those extra days where you truly get to relax and kick back.
She also says it's not something you should try to do EVERY weekend. It works best if you do it occasionally, like after a really tough week.

A cemetery in England will start charging people to visit their loved ones' graves. They'll still be able to visit for free between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays. But they'll have to pay around $6 for a "VIP pass" to visit outside those hours.
For visitors, ‘Please note, there will be no access at the weekend, on bank holidays, or any other dates when the office is closed. Thank you for your co-operation.’
‘The key cards are not coming into force until January 1 because people wouldn’t be happy if we did it before Christmas.’
They aren't happy now!!

A new survey asked 3,000 single men and women how they'd feel about a fast food first date. 54% of men would be into it . . . and, surprisingly, 66% of women would be down.
And 56% would be willing to split the bill . . . so, in this case, you both order separately at the counter.
When asked what their top choice fast food joint would be, the most popular option for a first date (as long as it's not Sunday) is Chick-fil-A. It was #1 in 31 states including New York and Pennsylvania. (Kind of a moot point around here as we don't have any)
McDonald's was next. It's #1 in six states: Alabama . . . Alaska . . . Idaho . . . Minnesota . . . New Mexico . . . and Washington state.
Dairy Queen was #1 in five states: Colorado . . . Connecticut . . . Kansas . . . North Dakota . . . and Utah.
Wendy's was #1 in two states: Oregon and South Dakota.
Subway was #1 in two states: Maine and Vermont.
Singles in Wyoming prefer KFC . . . in New Hampshire the pick is Burger King . . . in Louisiana, it's Popeyes . . . and Hawaiian singles actually WANT to subject their date to Taco Bell, which is bold.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Antifreeze manufacturers use artificial flavoring to make antifreeze taste bitter. It used to be sweet, which made it appealing to pets, children, and people trying to poison other people.
