Hate waking up? Here's a ridiculous hack: Self-help guru Mel Robbins is going viral after telling people to try "slithering" out of bed. She did it for six weeks, and claims it's life-changing for people who wake up with a sense of dread.
The name sums it up pretty well, but she posted a video of exactly how to do it. Slowly slide out of bed and onto the floor . . . lie there for a few minutes if you need to . . . then literally CRAWL to the bathroom. She claims you'll feel much better about your day by the time you get there and stand up.
Some people say it's worked for them, and others think it's just new-age nonsense. The best comment was someone who said they tried to do it . . . but woke up on the floor two hours later.

We're entering the season of giving, which is the perfect opportunity to be generous . . . and compensate for the last three "seasons" of selfishness.
In a new poll, 43% of Americans say they're actively doing more good deeds before the end of 2024 to make up for the rest of the year. That includes stuff like volunteering or donating.
This sentiment is more common among the younger generations. 59% of Gen Z'ers and Millennials are planning on doing more good as we approach 2025 . . . compared to 37% of Gen X'ers and Boomers.
But the younger generations also report to have done more charity earlier in the year. 19% of them say they'd give themselves an "A" for the good deeds they've done so far this year, compared to just 10% of older folks.
The average person plans to spend eight hours a week on "pursuits of good" from now through the end of the year.

With Wicked in theaters, and everyone knows the music and wants to sing along (don't) there's a new poll looked at what the rules are in 2024 when it comes to movie theater etiquette. Here are the Top 10 things you should never do at a movie . . .
You can cover a few of these by just PUTTING YOUR PHONE AWAY!!
1. FaceTiming someone during the movie. Only 4% think it's okay.
2. Leaving trash behind when you leave.
3. Taking a phone call.
4. Revealing a plot point out loud before it happens. 6% think that's fine?
5. Putting your feet up on the seat in front of you.
6. Bringing your dog, unless it's a service animal.
7. Eating or drinking loudly.
8. Talking at full volume during the movie. 11%, or one in nine people, think it's okay.
9. Taking photos, or recording video.
10. Yelling at a stranger because they did something rude. 17% say it's okay to do.
At the other end of the spectrum:
92% say it's okay to get up and use the bathroom during a movie
86% are fine with people applauding at the end
80% say it's okay to leave before the movie ends if you don't like it.
Things we're more split on:
Saving seats, 58% say it's okay
texting, 36%
making out with someone, 32%
taking your shoes off, 24%. (i've done this)
Last stat: Most Americans now think it's okay to sneak your own food in. 56% say it's acceptable . . . 27% say no way . . . and 17% aren't sure.

A team in Switzerland may have finally answered the question, "Which came first, the chicken of the egg?" A single-celled organism from a billion years ago already had similar characteristics to embryos. It suggests the ability to make eggs was around long before chickens were. So, the egg came first.

In dinner news: British scientists created the world's thinnest spaghetti, and it's much thinner than angel hair. 372 nanometers wide means 200 times thinner than a human hair. It's so thin, you can't even see it. It's invisible pasta.
Sure you made it...sure.

A 59-year-old grandmother in Canada broke the women's world record for most pushups in an hour. She broke the old record with 17 minutes to spare, and finished with 1,575. Her message to people is attack each day, and make the choice to believe in yourself and others.

A 61-year-old woman in Florida named Cheryl Hyatt was arrested last week during a domestic disturbance.
She apparently flipped out when her daughter said she wanted to leave to live with her father. Cheryl's 90-year-old mother was also there at the time.
Cheryl was so upset that she pulled out a pink Taser AND a kitchen knife . . . pointed them both at her daughter and her mother . . . and shouted, "I have a Taser! I have pepper spray! Who's first?"
She also blocked the door, to keep them from leaving. But the daughter eventually escaped through the garage . . . and the grandmother removed a barricade to get out through the front door. No one was hurt.
