It takes a village...

According to a survey of 2,000 parents of children ages 0-6, 78% agree that the definition of a village— or their community and support system— is different today than when they were growing up.

In fact, another 86% of parents say they have a different type of support system today than their own parents did.

Growing up, respondents recall spending the most time with grandmothers (60%), grandfathers (41%), aunts (51%) and uncles (41%) as well as their parents’ best friend (38%).

In total, they can remember an average of eight different people being regularly involved in their lives as children, and a majority (86%) are still in some contact with their childhood village.

today, parents rely on an average of seven different people, and fewer of them are relatives.

Mothers (54%) and fathers (34%) still ranked at the top of the list, but today’s parents are more likely to lean on their friends (33%) or best friends (30%) than aunts or uncles (29%).

It was national pickle day last week and Grillo’s Pickles has teamed up with Boka to launch a limited-edition Cucumber Dill Pickle flavored toothpaste.

They say it's for pickle lovers who want that “briny, sweet and tangy taste” first thing in the morning and last thing before you go to sleep, this toothpaste is sure to satisfy your cravings.

“I thought it would be a nice stocking stuffer, a gag gift, you know—but it actually tastes good. It’s cucumber dill. It’s actually quite refreshing,” VP of Branding Eddie Andre admitted.

“Being self-aware that no one asked for this, but we’re doing it, is kind of the way to go about it,” he added.

Ran across a TikTok of a guy who put Pepsi on his Fruity Pebbles.

Which brought to mind this question that I did find on Reddit.

Does cereal work with anything OTHER than milk? If so, what do you prefer?

Right out of the gate, there was "on top of Ice Cream" Well duh.. I've been doing this since I was a child.

So..Let's just look at in a bowl with no milk in the house..what would you use?

-I knew someone who preferred using Sprite, but he also put anchovies on fruit loops, so I don't really trust his recommendations.

-With Drinkable Yogurt It's a blast. (again though, yogurt is a no brainer)

-My grandad put orange juice on his cornflakes. (I've tried this..and it's nasty)

-If you mix red bull and fruity pebbles it tastes like you are eating a bowl of smarties.

-Cheerios and a good lager. I call it “Beerios.”

-I hear some people eat it dry straight out of the box-and-bag... like chips and crackers. (and there's nothing wrong with this)

Other beverages mentioned

-Bourbon, coffee, water, Vanilla liquid creamer, Bailey's, Orange Soda. Apple Juice,

-the correct answer is no

Would this make your beer-drinking experience better, or much worse?

Some guy on TikTok is on a mission to get Coors to start using Gatorade-style twist tops - the big, orange, wide-mouth caps that make it more chuggable.

He posted a video suggesting they use it for Coors Light bottles.  Then he decided Coors Banquet would be even better and sent them a tweet.

He shared a screenshot after they supposedly responded and called it a "neat idea" and said they'd do it if he got 15 million likes in the next month.

His mock-up art has it in a plastic bottle, so you'd be able to squeeze it and drink faster.  But plastic isn't really used for beer, because it goes flat faster.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - In China, some cops prefer guard geese over guard dogs . . . because geese are more territorial and have better eyesight.
