William Tell Day - the Swiss folk who supposedly shot an apple off his son's head with a crossbow in 1307. Tell isn't believed to have been real and he has become a symbol of political and individual freedom, and a father figure of the Swiss people.
According to legend, Tell was a farmer and famous hunter from the municipality of Bürglen, in Uri, Switzerland. One day he came with his son through the market square at Altdorf. Bailiff Gessler, an agent of the Habsburg duke in Austria, had put a Habsurg hat on a pole there and announced that everyone passing by had to uncover their heads. After Tell refused to take off his hat, Gessler ordered an apple to be placed on Tell's son's head and said that if Tell didn't shoot it off at a distance of 120 paces, he and his son would be put to death. Tell shot the apple and his son was saved.
Afterward, Gessler asked him, "Your life is now safe, but kindly tell me why I saw you putting a second arrow inside your jacket?" William Tell responded: "If my first arrow had killed my son, I would have shot the second at you, and I would not have missed."

Let's be honest, cake mix doesn't stand a chance when compared to the real thing, BUT, if you're going to make it straight from a package the best thing you can do is use real butter instead of oil, milk instead of water, and add one extra egg.
This will make it taste like you made it from scratch (just don't tell anyone it's cake mix).

Disney won't let the "Frozen" franchise go anytime soon. "Frozen 3" is likely still years away, but a fourth film has already been announced. Disney CEO Bob Iger casually dropped "a little surprise" about the series Thursday on "Good Morning America," revealing, "'Frozen 3' is in the works, and there might be a 'Frozen 4' in the works, too." Indeed, "Frozen" co-director Jennifer Lee is working on "not one, but actually two ['Frozen'] stories," he added. "Frozen 3" was officially announced in February alongside "Toy Story 5," though neither has a confirmed release date.

Everyone go home. On "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Martha Stewart revealed she has canceled her Thanksgiving dinner for 2023. "I gave up Thanksgiving," she said. Stewart apparently did have plans, though, only for nine of her guests to cancel because someone got sick. After that, she called up her "chef friend" and declared, "We're not doing Thanksgiving." Besides, Stewart's work seems to have made her a bit tired of the holiday, as she noted she has already cooked "like 14 turkeys" for her TV show with plans to cook another one on the "Today" show. "Forget it," she said. "I am turkeyed out."

This opportunity could either be a dream come true or a total nightmare: A flower box subscription service is offering to pay someone $2,000 to watch 12 Hallmark Christmas movies in 12 days.
The chosen candidate will also be given a Ghirardelli hot chocolate, two pairs of fuzzy socks, and a 12-month flower box subscription.
They'll be asked to rank each movie by five criteria: festivity, predictability, chemistry between the characters, if it made them cry, and if they'd watch it again.
Applications are open through December 3rd.
