It's the full Beaver Moon Friday at 4:29PM.

This is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges, having laid up sufficient food stores for the long winter ahead. During the fur trade in North America, it was also the season to trap beavers for their thick, winter-ready pelts.

Digging (or Scratching) Moon,  Deer Rutting Moon, Whitefish Moon, Frost and Freezing Moon.

At the Movies this weekend

Red One - After a shocking abduction from the North Pole, the Commander of the E.L.F. Task Force must partner with the world's most infamous bounty hunter to save Christmas.

Starring Chris Evans, Dwayne Johnson, Bonnie Hunt, J.K. Simmons, Kiernan Shipka, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel.

Today's AskReddit ask is "What is something odd you find attractive?"

Highlights:

1.  "When men (or women) build fires and stuff."  Someone suggests that it triggers something primal in their brain, like, "This person can help me survive."

2.  "When someone remembers tiny details about me . . . like my coffee order or my irrational fear of pigeons."

3.  "Men (or women) who actually read books in their free time."

4.  "Math skills."

5.  "People with good posture."

6.  "People with unique physical characteristics:  Unusual noses . . . imperfect smiles . . . crooked teeth . . . freckles . . . bigger ears . . . birthmarks . . . visible veins . . . and 'sexy tendons.'"

7.  "Someone who has quick wit, mixed with dark humor.  Those people are the best to converse with."

8.  "Collarbones are underrated . . . one of the most beautiful parts of the form."

9.  "When someone gets really passionate about a niche topic they love . . . like medieval shipbuilding techniques or the migratory patterns of birds."

10.  "When someone is fascinated by ME enjoying things . . . genuine curiosity and engagement in weird little hobbies or interests that I have."

11.  "Being courteous and nice to animals."

12.  "Some people's voice when they are having a cold."

13.  "Asthma.  When someone whips out their inhaler mid-conversation . . . I'm immediately attracted to them."

14.  "Handwriting."

15.  "Lowercase typers."

Everyone has had people tell them that it's very important that their passwords are SECRET.  So apparently . . . a lot of Americans have made their password the actual word "secret."

Every year, a company called NordPass goes through all the lists of hacked passwords that get leaked on the internet, to figure out the most common, easy, and hackable ones that people are still using.

The #1 most commonly hacked password that Americans used in 2024 is . . . "secret."  That password took less than a second to be hacked, and has been used more than 328,000 times.

The second-worst was "123456," which is the #1 worst globally.

The rest of the 10 worst in the U.S. are:  "password" . . . "qwerty123" . . . "qwerty1" . . . "123456789" . . . "password1" . . . "12345678" . . . "12345" . . . and "abc123."

Other common bad ones include:  "iloveyou" . . . "baseball" . . . "princess" . . . "football" . . . "monkey" . . . and "sunshine."

Yesterday was National Pickle Day.  According to one report, more than 67% of all households eat pickles. And on average, they purchase pickles every 53 days.

Do you ever drink the pickle juice, straight from the jar?

Believe it or not, an online poll asked this question . . . and 26% of people admitted they HAVE done that.  The other 74% said no.

One person said, "Who drinks from the jar?  Ew . . . pour it into a cup you animals."

Another didn't have a problem with the jar part.  Quote, "I've drank olive juice straight from the jar, but not pickle juice."

Someone who DOES drink the juice says, "It's a good source of electrolytes after a hard workout, and tasty."  But others say they don't for the same reason they wouldn't drink straight vinegar:  Because it's too strong on its own.

According to a report, the average American man has eight friends total . . . including five "general" friends, three "close" friends, and two "best" friends.

33% of men are most comfortable calling their friends "bro."

26% prefer "brother" or "brotha."

21% usually use "homie."

And just 6% would use the word "bestie."

And men spend an average of four hours connecting with friends every week, which includes:  94 minutes hanging out in person . . . 52 minutes texting . . . 42 minutes talking on the phone . . . and 39 minutes DMing on social media.

A 19-year-old YouTuber named Norme is trying to break a world record by locking himself in a room for a full month with no light.  And the craziest part is he's almost done.  He went in on October 16th.

He got booted from YouTube and Twitch a few months ago for another endurance stunt where he didn't sleep for 12 days.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - The black dots around your car windshield are called "frits."  They're an enamel that's baked into the glass to ease the temperature transition from the black band around the edge to the clear glass, so it doesn't expand and crack.

The black band needs to be there because it blocks the UV light and protects the glue that holds the windshield into place so it doesn't pop out.
