Richard Moll, best known as the towering bailiff “Bull Shannon” on the long-running NBC sitcom Night Court, died Oct. 26 at his home in Big Bear Lake, Calif. He was 80 and no cause was given by his family.

After Night Court, Moll landed a recurring role on the sitcom Getting By (NBC, 1992-94), starring Cindy Williams, before appearing in an episode of the cult sci-fi hit Babylon 5 (TNT, 1993-99). He also voiced the bodyguard to the title character of the animated Mighty Max (syndicated, 1993-94).

Richard's wife Susan was a step-daughter of Milton Berle.

Gen Z knows what it wants from its onscreen entertainment, and it’s less sex. A recent UCLA survey found 47.5% of people age 13–24 think sex isn’t needed to move the plot along in most movies and TV shows, and 51.5% reported that they wanted more content focused on friendships rather than romantic relationships. Meanwhile, 39% said they’d like to see more asexual or aromantic characters represented. They may be over romance in real life too: In a separate survey from January, 44% of Gen Z agreed “I would rather clean the toilet than go on another online date.”

If you need a costume in a pinch, here are six ideas using items you probably already have in your closet . . .

1. Tourist. Some combo of shorts, a brightly-colored tacky shirt, socks with sandals, a straw hat or visor, sunglasses, a camera, and sunscreen on your nose.

2. Lumberjack. A flannel with some jeans and a beanie. Bonus points if your kids have a toy ax lying around.

3. Mummy. Just need some of those fabric bandages to wrap around you. You can also tear old white T-shirts into strips and use those.

4. Bank robber. Black leggings, a black and white striped shirt, a little black mask, and some kind of loot bag.

5. Bob Ross. Button-down shirt, jeans, and you can make a small paint palette out of cardboard.

6. Barbie. It's one of THE trending costumes this year. Get the look by dressing in anything pink with high heels, or brightly-colored workout clothes, tube socks, and rollerblades.

The vampire experts at LawnLove.com (ok?) conducted a "study" to determine the best places for vampires based on 17 factors, including the number of warm bodies . . . blood centers . . . slaughterhouses . . . casket suppliers . . . homes with basements . . . and "vampire-friendly clubs."

They also looked at local deterrents, like "average percentage of sunshine" . . . Christian churches . . . herb and spice shops . . . and garlic festivals.

In the end, they found the BEST city for vampires is: New York City.

The rest of the Top 10 best cities are: Chicago . . . Columbus, Ohio . . . Philadelphia . . . Los Angeles . . . Houston . . . Portland, Oregon . . . Madison, Wisconsin . . . Seattle . . . and Omaha, Nebraska.

Out of 500 cities, the WORST places for vampires are seven cities in Arizona, including Yuma, Flagstaff, Peoria, and Buckeye, which was dead last.

By the way, Syracuse is #27, and Rochester is #47.

As random as this "study" is . . . even during Halloween season . . . it has a purpose. They say they're promoting it to encourage blood donations during the national shortage.

The Billboard Music Awards announced their nominees yesterday. Taylor Swift leads with 20, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Hot 100 Song for "Anti-Hero".

Taylor already holds the Billboard record for the most wins for a female artist with 29, this year she COULD surpass Drake, who holds the overall record with 34.

Morgan Wallen and SZA follow with 17 nominations each. They're both in the Top Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist categories with Taylor.

The Weeknd follows with 16, and Drake and first-timer Zach Bryan both have 14.

A single mom in Tennessee wanted to do something special for her son's eighth birthday this month but didn't have a ton of money. So she posted something on Facebook about how he loves cars, and her community came through for her. People organized a huge car parade, and over 80 souped-up rides showed up for it. A lot of the owners also brought gifts.
