Despite all the creative Halloween full Moon pictures, a full Moon occurring on Halloween is not a common occurrence and only happens every 18 to 19 years. The last time a full Moon happened on Halloween night was in 2020.

If there is a full Moon on Halloween, it will also be the second full Moon in October and, therefore, a Blue Moon!

An even rarer oddity is a “Black Moon.” Although this is not technically an astronomical term, “Black Moon” has come to mean the second new Moon in a calendar month.

Technology moves quickly and we are supposed to upgrade as we go..how would you feel if a major light railway system still used floppy disks? (kids ask your parents)

According to a new report, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency has agreed to shell out $212 MILLION to update the technology of its light rail so that it doesn't require floppy disks.

The current system has required five-inch floppy disks since 1998, when it was installed.  The trains use floppy disks for loading software that controls the central servers.

The $212 million will eventually lead to an updated train control system . . . the same thing that's used to power modern transportation in more than 50 countries, like Japan's bullet train.  But the overhaul will take up to 10 YEARS.

Dolly Parton sat down with "Elle" magazine for a long interview and talked about everything from her new album "Smoky Mountain DNA" coming out in November . . . to her philanthropic work . . . and even her new Dolly Wines.

Eventually, she was asked, quote, "What are your thoughts on the current state of Country music?"

And, as always, Dolly had a wonderful response.

She said, quote, "Country music used to be thought of as an old hokey kind of music.  I love the fact now it is one of the most loved musics in the whole wide world.

"I'm just proud to say that we've still got Country music, we still love it, and they're still calling it Country music, even if it sounds more Rock and Pop."

She went on to say that, quote, "Country music's going to always exist in one form or another.  I'm going to see to it as long as I live."

A library near Kennebunkport, Maine is in the news because it's also doubling as a cat shelter.  The folks who run it started taking in cats last year that live at the library until they get adopted.  They've fostered around 30 so far.  Most have been scooped up within a week or two.

Today's Useless Fact of the Day - Woodrow Wilson is the only president who earned a doctorate.  He got a Ph.D. in history and political science from Johns Hopkins University.
