A "large feline" was spotted in Lehigh County, Pa., according to police, igniting growing concerns that mountain lions may be making a comeback in the state.

The eastern cougar once inhabited the state but were thought by experts to have left the area decades ago due to habitat loss and eradication programs.
However, as possible sightings become more common, many believe the so-called "ghost cats" (so-called for their hiding abilities) could be making a comeback.
Pennsylvania Game Commission Furbearer Biologist Thomas Keller told WTAJ there is no current breeding population in Pennsylvania, but there could be transient wild mountain lions passing through.

Millie Bobby Brown is running up that hill and toward that finish line. In a new Glamour profile, the "Stranger Things" star said she's ready to move on from the Netflix phenomenon, which is ending with its upcoming fifth season. "'Stranger Things' takes up a lot of time to film and it's preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about," she said. "So I'm ready to say, 'Thank you, and goodbye.'" Brown compared leaving "Stranger Things" to graduating from high school, noting, "When you're ready, you're like, 'All right, let's do this. Let's tackle this last senior year. Let's get out of here.'"

A former design ethicist from Google named Tristan Harris says if you make your phone screen all black and white . . . instead of the millions of colors you have now . . . it can help you break your addiction.
All those colors are positive reinforcements that keep you scrolling and tapping. By going grayscale, you won't have as much of an urge to use your phone.
And it's easy to set your phone to black and white. Both iPhone and Android have settings that let you easily shut off the color.
Lots of people have tried this and some say it works, some say it doesn't but it's worth a shot, right?

Chuck Norris stretches his acting chops by playing...Chuck Norris.
The new movie is called "Zombie Plane", and Chuck will actually be playing himself. So will Vanilla Ice.
In the movie, the government has trained celebrities to be undercover agents.
"Zombie Plane" also stars Australian actress Sophie Monk, and it was shot in her home country earlier this year. No word on when this Oscar contender will be released in theaters.

If you desire The Need For Speed! "Top Gun" is now a reality show. "Top Gun: The Next Generation" is coming to Nat Geo, but a premiere date hasn't been announced yet.
The show will follow Navy student pilots "every step of the way" during training, as they embark on, quote, "some of the most challenging flight tests possible, including landing on an aircraft carrier at sea."
This will reportedly be the first time this level of access has been given to the pilot training program.

A 16-year-old in Oklahoma named Gabriella Bonham just got a free car, and it was a year in the making. It all stemmed from a funeral in July of 2022.
Before she passed away, 68-year-old Diane Sweeny told her nephew to give her 2016 Volkswagen Beetle to someone who showed up for her funeral. Not someone specific. She told him to raffle it off. So he did.
He announced the raffle in her obituary, and dozens of people Diane had never met showed up, including Gabriella. So why are we just hearing about it now?
It took over a year to settle Diane's estate, so the drawing just happened last month. Diane's nephew called Gabriella the "perfect" winner. Quote, "A young girl starting her life as Diane's was ending. It worked out perfectly."
Gabriella says she's always wanted a Beetle and called it "a dream first car" for her.

A new poll asked people how often they pay in cash when making an in-person purchase. 7% of people said they "always" pay in cash . . . and another 14% said they usually do.
On the flip-side, 8% said they "never" use cash, and another 30% said they "rarely" do. About 36% of people say they often use cash AND other methods.
The interesting thing is that YOUNG ADULTS are the most likely to say they always pay in cash, while OLDER ADULTS, especially Boomers, are more likely to say they never pay in cash.
They didn't break it down by payment method, so maybe the never-cashers are using credit or debit cards for convenience and safety . . . rather than whipping out their devices to use tech like ApplePay or something.

Someone in Houston gained access to an electronic construction sign recently and changed the message displayed on it.
Instead of relaying helpful information about roadwork up ahead, it said, "Due to weather . . . GO [EFF] YOURSELF."
The message stayed up for several hours before it got taken down.
A city employee said the controls where you type the message in are locked inside a box attached to the sign. So whoever did it probably had access, or knew how to break in.
No word yet on who was behind it, or what kind of charges they could face.
