You’re probably familiar with the four main blood types—A, B, O, and AB. But this isn’t the only blood classification system. There are many ways of grouping red blood cells based on differences in the sugars or proteins that coat their surface, known as antigens. The grouping systems run concurrently, so your blood can be classified in each—it might, for instance, be type O in the ABO system, positive (rather than negative) under the Rhesus system, and so on.
Now there is a new set of blood grouping—the “Er” system, the 44th to be described.
Most of these are very rare types but could cause issues in an infusion.

A pumpkin near Buffalo, N.Y., has broken a national heavyweight record by weighing in at 2,554 pounds.
If you want to check out the giant gourd with your own eyes, it'll be on display at Great Pumpkin Farm in the town of Clarence until Oct. 16. Alas, it is not the greatest pumpkin in the world. That honor belongs to a giant in Italy that clocked in around 2,700 pounds last year.

There are a lot of opinions on the best Halloween candies so someone compiled rankings from 10 different experts, and used them to create one master list of the Top Five.
Here are the results:
1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups . . . Many "candy experts" rank Reese's high on their list for their perfect size and packaging.
2. Twix . . . As texture goes, Twix bars hit the right note every time: Never too dry, never too chewy, and never too creamy.
3. Sour Patch Kids . . . First they're sour, then they're sweet . . . and there's a palatable chewiness, but they won't get stuck in your teeth.
4. Snickers . . . It's easily the heartiest of all candy bars: Nougat, caramel, nuts, and chocolate represent pretty much every "candy" food group.
5. Starburst . . . Sweet, chewy, and just the right size . . . but some colors are better than others. Experts love Pink, but Starburst wouldn't make this list if it was just a pack full of Orange ones.
Are you one to buy candy early or closer to Halloween? Next question, do you dip into the Halloween candy before you even get it out the door?
