Working from home saved workers around the world an average of 72 minutes in commute time every day in 2021 and 2022. And many of them plowed that time right back into ... working more,

In the U.S., remote work saved an average of 55 minutes a day, per worker, according to the working paper. The researchers looked at two surveys of employees who worked mainly from home at some point during the pandemic, conducted over the past two years.

The data underscore that the benefits of remote work flow both to employees and employers.

40% of workers used the time saved to work on either a primary or secondary job.

34% used the time for leisure activities, including exercise or watching TV, and 11% went to caregiving, for children or others.

The value of the commute time saved is even greater than the numbers suggest, write the paper's authors, for three reasons:

Remote work saves money. (No more spending on gas or trains or buses.)

Workers also spend less time grooming and getting ready for work when they're remote.

Working from home gives people more autonomy over their time during the day.

To defog the windshield quickly in cold weather, you want to turn on the heat and the air conditioning.

Air conditioners don’t just chill the air; they dry it out. When you run the heat and the AC at the same time, you get hot, dry air.

Since windshield fog is caused by moisture inside the car, keeping the inside of your car dry will help. If you’ve tracked a lot of snow and slush into the car, clean it out.

finally, consider cleaning the inside of your windshield, because clean glass doesn’t fog as easily. Don't just use those fast food napkins you have...do a proper clean with a glass cleaner.

A new study figured out the best place to hide and take shelter if nukes start falling. Obviously, a bomb shelter is your best bet. But assuming you don't have one, here's what they say.

Ideally, you want to be inside a sturdy structure, not outside. And get to the CORNER of a room as fast as possible. Specifically, a corner FACING the blast.

Researchers did a bunch of computer simulations to see what happens when the blast wave hits different types of buildings. And if you're too close, there's not much you can do.

But if you're in the "moderate damage zone" . . . more than a mile or so away . . . you might have a chance. That's where the blast itself won't get you, but the shockwave and high winds from it could.

They looked at how a nuclear blast wave moves through a building. And the WORST places to be are in hallways, doorways, and near windows. That's where the air speed from the blast is the highest, because there's a wind-tunnel effect.

The BEST place to be is in the corner of a room facing the blast. But you only have a second or two, so be quick about it.

Kristin Chenoweth said her hair extensions saved her life during a lighting accident on the set of "The Good Wife" in 2012. On "Watch What Happens Live", she told Andy Cohen that a light had hit her in the face and threw her to the curb, knocking her out.

Kristin sustained a 7-inch skull fracture, a hairline crack, a fracture in her nose, and cracked teeth and ribs. She said she still has long-standing injuries from then.

But the doctor told her that her hair extensions saved her life. Quote, "They made the hairline fracture go together . . . So anybody who wants to get hair extensions should, for your health."

30 years after they first morphed, some of the original and classic "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" are returning for a brand-new adventure. It's called "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always", and it premieres on Netflix on April 19th.

The returnees include Walter Emanuel Jones, the original Black Ranger, and David Yost, the original Blue Ranger . . . along with other cast members who joined in later seasons.

Also, Charlie Kersh will play Minh, the daughter of original Yellow Ranger Trini. Trini was played by Thuy Trang, who died in a car accident in 2001.

There's no word if the show will pay tribute to original Green Ranger Jason David Frank, who died last year.

But Barbara Goodson is coming back as the voice of Rita Repulsa, and Richard Horvitz is returning to voice Alpha 5.
