Well this is new. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, the stress and fever that any illness can bring to the body can cause a significant amount of hair loss two or three months after recovering. The association states that getting sick can force more hair into the shedding phase.
“When people have extreme stress on their body, the hair quits cycling, and those that are caught in this phase — called the telogen phase — end up losing their hair,” said Dr. Austin Baeth, UnityPoint Health in Iowa.
Doctors expect the shedding will last six months to a year, and then the hair should grow back.
The advice from hairstylists is to take vitamins that help your hair grow, avoid coloring or using heat on your hair, find things to keep stress levels low, and if it is bad enough, check with either a dermatologist or hairstylist for options.

A new poll found 56% of us have botched recipes that are considered "easy." So what's the hardest "easy" thing to make? The #1 answer was pancakes.
38% of Americans say they struggle with pancakes and still feel like they don't do a great job.
After pancakes, it's eggs, pasta, mac-and-cheese, soup, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rice, grilled chicken, and fish.
Dinner was voted the most challenging meal overall. We'll try to make something an average of four times before we get it right, or just give up.
The worst things you can do are burn something, undercook something, and use the wrong ingredients.

A 60-year-old guy named Michael McClellan got arrested in Mobile, Alabama last week, while trying to steal a set of bleachers from a public park.
There were two sets of metal bleachers sitting next to some tennis courts. He hooked one of them to the trunk of his car, and just dragged it down the street.
To give you an idea of how big they are, there's a photo of them still attached to his car, and there are five rows of benches. So it looks like they could seat at least 20 people.
This all happened in broad daylight, by the way. A cop pulled Michael over after spotting his car dragging the bleachers around 12:20 in the afternoon. He'd made it about a mile-and-a-half.
It's not clear why he wanted the bleachers or where he was taking them. He's facing charges for first-degree theft.
