Someone on Reddit posted a photo after they stayed at a Marriott in Florida . . . and there was a sign on the mini-fridge that said they'd be charged $50 if they put any of their OWN stuff in it.
Quote, "The refreshment center is on a sensor. Use of the refreshment center for personal storage will automatically incur a $50 charge."
In other words, it looks like they're now charging to make sure you don't buy your OWN stuff and keep it in there to save money.
A few people mentioned a hack to get around it. Call the front desk and tell them you need a fridge to store your medication.
This needs to be fought!!!! Ridiculous!

There's a video going viral online, where a guy shares his trick for opening a difficult lid. You just take a spoon . . . stick it underneath the lid along one of the grooves . . . and gently pry the lid away from the glass.
The suction will release, and you can easily twist the lid off.
Now, this is NOT a new trick . . . there are previous examples of it online and some commenters say they've been opening stubborn jars like this for decades. Still, it's new to some people.

A new study has found that bad moods can make people more "detail-oriented," and it's not just because they're less chatty and distracted by others.
The researchers say mood and language are supported by different brain networks. But there's a lot of interaction going on between them.
When the people in the study were in a negative mood, they were more "careful and analytical." They scrutinized what was actually in front of them . . . and didn't just fall back on general knowledge or routine.
They were also more likely to "re-analyze" situations where there were unexpected inconsistencies when they were in a bad mood. Or at least WOMEN are. For the purposes of the study, they only used female participants this time, but future studies will also involve men.

Today’s Useless Fact of the Day - A cheesemonger is to cheese like a sommelier is to wine . . . not a producer, but a knowledgeable interpreter, adviser, and seller.
