These cold mornings, do you warm up the car?

One 2009 study showed that, on average, Americans believed a car's engine should be left to idle for nearly four minutes in subfreezing temperatures—but as it turns out, this move is not only bad for your wallet and the environment, but your car as well.

Beginning in the 1980s, car companies began replacing carburetors with electronic fuel injection, which uses sensors to calculate the correct mixture of air and fuel to supply your engine with.

So..you don't need to warm up the car....by idling. Go easy on the pedal for 5-15 minutes for it to reach normal temperature.

Did you survive your morning without Hoda Kotb? She left the Today show Friday.

Craig Melvin took over this morning along with Savannah Guthrie. Hoda says that she'll be sleeping at 7am. (i doubt that..old habits die hard..and you know she watched.)

If you're aiming for a less-cluttered home this year, you're not alone.  Two-thirds of us think starting the year out clutter-free is a "key."  And a third of us are making it a top priority right now.

Realistically though, you might have the same goal in 2026.  People were asked how long they think they'll stick with it, and the average answer was just 38 days.

That means by February 8th, most of us will be back to socks on the floor and dishes in the sink.  59% said they probably won't even last that long.

42% said a messy home makes them feel overwhelmed . . . 37% said irritable . . . and 34% said unfocused.  The average person said it would take 20 hours to really get their place in good shape right now.

Here are the top three strategies we'll try to adopt this year:

1.  Organizing on a regular basis, 43%.

2.  Only buying things you really need, 38%.

3.  A better storage system, 30%.

There's a new poll out on profanity in the workplace, and 9% of people say it's "completely acceptable."  Another 23% say it's "somewhat acceptable."

28% say it's "not very acceptable" . . . and 31% say profanity at work is "not at all acceptable."

They broke it down by demographic.  Profanity is far more acceptable among younger workers than those over 65 . . . among men than women . . . and in the Midwest than in any other region of the country.

People were also asked about profanity "in front of young children."

5% of people say it's "completely acceptable."  Another 11% say it's "somewhat acceptable."  25% say it's "not very acceptable," and 54% say profanity in front of kids is "not at all acceptable."

Younger adults and men were also more likely to say that was okay than older folks and women.

And finally, people were asked if they censor themselves on social media.

13% of people say it's "completely acceptable" to curse within their own social media posts.  Another 24% say it's "somewhat acceptable."  26% say it's "not very acceptable," and 29% say profanity on social media is "not at all acceptable."

Nominations for this year's Oscars will be announced Sunday, the 19th.

Only two actors born after 1990 have won Oscars . . . and they're both women.  But that might change this year.

Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress in 2012 for "Silver Linings Playbook".  She was born August 15th, 1990.

And Ariana DeBose won Best Supporting Actress in 2022 for "West Side Story".  She was born January 25th, 1991.

The '90s kids who are expected to be nominated include Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Margaret Qualley, and Timothée Chalamet.
