45 Years Ago - 1977 Kansas released their fifth album Point of No Return.
The singles were the title track (#28), "Dust in the Wind" where Kerry Livgren devised what would be the guitar line for "Dust in the Wind" as a finger exercise for learning fingerpicking. His wife, Vicci, heard what he was doing, remarked that the melody was nice, and encouraged him to write lyrics for it. (#6 Hot 100 and AC), and "Portrait (He Knew)" where the inspiration came from Kerry Livgren's admiration for Albert Einstein. (#23 #62 AC.)
This is another album that I wore out! Was a nice re-listen.
