1977 James Taylor released his eighth album JT. It was nominated for Album of the year but lost to Rumours by Fleetwood Mac.

The album gave us four singles, "Bartender's Blues" (#86), "Handy Man" which won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance (#4 #1 AC), "Your Smiling Face" (#20 (shocked it wasn't higher) #6 AC), and "Honey Don't Leave L.A.".
