1976 The Car Wash: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Rose Royce was released. It's the debut album from Rose Royce. The title track was a #1 Hot 100 and R&B hit (#3 Dance), followed by "I Wanna Get Next to You" (#10 #3 R&B), and "I'm Going Down" (#70 #10 R&B.)
The Car Wash soundtrack won a 1977 Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album.
